Wondering
I meet rather often people from different backgrounds, sex and ages, who all are for the freedom of speech
They stand up for people who have different opinions, thoughts and Ideas.
When I then say to these people that I believe in Jesus Christ, that he died on the cross for our sins, they cant really cope with that.
They start arguing, question me, in a very aggresive way.
They start joking and asks me silly questions.
I then wonder, Why do they suddenly change their opinion, tolerating another opinion?
Jesus words are true, they cut like a hot knife in butter, perhaps thats why!?
Jesus himself said:
And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. (Mark 13:13)
Amen!
I think it is very hard for some people to believe in a higher being or power, especially Christianity.
ReplyDeleteI went to a Catholic high school, a Catholic college, and now I'm attending a Catholic graduate school. Not because my family believes in a God or gods, but because I think I'm getting a better education.
So in having over 9 years of Catholic education, I understand the points of Catholicism, still, I cannot find myself to believe in a higher power. I don't think the Bible directly applies to present day life. Also, I find more harm comes from believing in a God then good.
Did you hear about the recent Bishop that was excommunicated for spending over 40 million dollars of church money on luxury unnecessary updates. I recently read it in the New York Times. I find that funny. So funny. I find more good in people who are good just to be good, then for people who believe in a higher power and that is why they are good. I have been able to witness more corruption in the Catholic church then in any other higher, non-governmental institution.
If Jesus will save the Bishop for wasting people's money, when it could go to helping people, then I'm sure he can save a non-believer like myself. If there isn't a God, then it's a win-win for me.
Just to believe in God doesn't make you good.
DeleteThere are many people all over the planet that are evil.
Jesus did not just die for Christians, He died to redeem, reconcile, and ultimately save all mankind.
God loves everybody, He understands everybody, and He has a covenant with everybody , whether they know it or not.
Every human being is and was created in the image and likeness of God.
What is very important for us Christians is to create a personal relationship with God. When we truly repent, believe and create this relationship, when we have Christ living in our heart we don't want to sin, we don't want to do harm. Yes still we see evil things happening, still we see "church folks" do evil, but you know,
In Gods love is also Gods judgement. In Love is also boundaries.
