PASSION

You really need passion in order to to become successful in almost everything you do. As an athlete, teacher, father, pastor, business man, you name it. Passion you just need it. If you lose the passion in life, you lose the very essence of success.

The Bible is full of verses that talk about passion

Galatians 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

Passion (from the Latin verb patī meaning to suffer) is a term applied to a very strong feeling about a person or thing. Passion is an intense emotion compelling feeling, enthusiasm, or desire for something. (Wikipedia)
So God has very strong feelings for us, He desires us. So how can we develop the same desire for Him?
First of all we need to know Him. It is hard to have a passion for someone you don't know.
So how do we get to know Him?

Spend time with Him. Let God be your guide in life. Let God be that light that shines in the dark, that light that helps you find things. Let God be that voice you can hear everywhere you are. Make God your number one person you think of in good and in bad times.

God is saying I want you to put some power, put some energy, put some emotion into your relationship with Me. Don’t be short about your relationship with Me

Once my wife said to me: I can't understand why it is OK to jump up and down, scream and have passion for your team out in the field and when you do like this, everyone understands you.
But if you scream out to God, jump up and down for Him and have a sincere passion for God, then people think you are a lunatic. Why?

Lets be passionate for Him!

  1. This is a great post because you do need passion in everything. I think people might look at a person praising God in a non-conventional way a lunatic because they can't see your point of view.

It's like when I'm really getting into painting. I can see and know my passion but other people may think that I've lost my mind. It's all in our pint of view, but in the end I do believe that you need some passion!
