Life is hard

Yesterday I heard an interview, or should I say a panel discussion about Christian faith by the famous actor David Suchet, well known for his role as Poirot in Agatha Christies murder story.

The first question to him was : what are the challenges and opportunities being a Christian in today's world ( I think he meant the western World)

David Suchet started to say that " he rather would like to be in an environment where everyone is a Christian, like in a Church, religious University etc, but in his world the entertaining and artistic world it's very hard. " Davis Suchet mentioned " its though out there" several of times.

Yes it is very though out here. Everyday is a spiritual struggle. Being a Christian in the secular world, an outspoken Christian is hard.

In some places you can loose relationships, positions at work, well sometimes even your job.

In the country of Sweden where I live, it is though out here. In a way not only for Christians.
It is hard to get " real friends" in Sweden. It is hard to be acknowledge for what you are doing ( if you are not a musician or a sports person),
it is hard getting help when needed. It is hard to get eye contact, to get a smile when you smile at people in the streets. Sometimes it is very hard to get a "Hi" back even from neighbours!

We can change this. We can make a difference.

Jesus gave the World its most influential movement. Jesus shaped how we express compassion, Jesus changed how we think about human rights and dignity, Jesus showed us love.
Jesus told us not to hate our enimies but to love them, to love our neighbours-
Let us never forget that.
